New Dawn is an independent publisher of speculative fiction based in Perth, Western Australia.

Founded in 2021, we have grown into a diverse team of passionate creatives who are focused on creating a lasting change in our ever-changing industry and bringing great stories to centrestage.

Our aim, as our name suggests, is to bring about the dawn of a new age of publishing, focusing on our key values of Transparency, Diversity and Equality within our community, as well as publishing Stories that go Beyond Words.

Meet the team

At New Dawn we want our authors and readers to get to know who we are. Our team is filled with a diverse range of talent and passions within the field of publishing. We have a huge love for what we do and want to share that with you!

Dylan Ingram

Director & founder

Dylan founded New Dawn in 2021. After working in the industry for many years, he found he wanted to publish books that he enjoyed. That’s when he decided to start his own publishing house dedicated to speculative work, and in September 2021, he signed his first author.

During the week, you can find Dylan either in the office or at home, usually with a coffee having too-long meetings with his team, working on a design or making sure the company keeps ticking along.

Outside of work, Dylan enjoys sitting up with a good book, going to the gym and long walks with his partner Chelsea and fur baby Poncho.

Chelsea Wilcox

Copyeditor

Chelsea joined New Dawn in 2021 when the company first started. Previously, she had been working in the industry for about two years.

During the week you can find Chelsea polishing up new manuscripts with a hot cup of tea close at hand.

Outside of work, Chelsea’s passions are the gym, going for runs and spending time with her partner and fur baby.

Eleanor Narey

structural editor

Eleanor started with New Dawn in 2021 after completing her degrees in publishing and creative writing, and after having worked with the team during her internship with another press.

Her workday consists of getting up early to bunker down in her latest project, helping authors transform their stories into the best they can be, and often writing above and beyond the necessary word count of our latest team project.

In her spare time Eleanor can be found reading or lifting weights at the gym. When she is reading, it is a happy balance of strong female-lead fantasy or crime novels, or feminist non-fiction books that inspire and empower her.
